Successful participation of Export Promotion Fund in “Made in Uzbekistan” exhibition in Dushanbe

With the assistance of Export Promotion Fund for Small Business and Private Entrepreneurship under the NBU, a business council was held in Dushanbe, 23 companies from Uzbekistan took part in its work. The meeting was attended by chairmen and members of the Council of Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, ministries and departments, and 120 representatives of small and medium-sized business.

Then on March 9, a business forum was held in Dushanbe, organized by the governments of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. During the forum, the Export Promotion Fund for Small Business and Private Entrepreneurs signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Association of Small and Medium Business of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Taking into account the rapidly growing mutual interest in cooperation of Uzbek and Tajik companies, negotiations were held with members of the association. Participants of the first meeting of the Business Council emphasized that further development of cooperation between the two countries is one of the priority directions of foreign policy of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

During the fair, assistance was rendered in concluding the contract of LLC Nika-Pharm with the Tajik company Khushbakhtiyon LLC in the amount of $500 thousand on supplying pharmaceuticals to Tajikistan.

As a result of business meetings, the Fund also reached an agreement for supplying construction materials with JSC “Avicenna” in the amount of $1.5 million. An agreement was signed with “Subhi Vatan” for supplying children’s clothing in the amount of $1.0 million. An agreement was reached with LLC “Pokiza” for supplying confectionery products in the amount of $1.5 million.

The Tajik side expressed interest in establishing cooperation in the sphere of industry and agriculture, in particular, the issue of organizing supply of textile products to Tajikistan, as well as food products produced in Uzbekistan was discussed.
