At the national press centre, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education has held a news conference on work carried out to further improve postgraduate education and to introduce information communication technologies in this sphere.
Today nearly 25 thousand professors and teachers work at the country’s higher educational institutions. More than 1,500 of them have doctorate degrees.
In accordance with a Presidential resolution dated 20 April 2017 on measures to further develop the higher education system, work is being done to introduce information communication technologies in the higher education system.
It was said at the event that a working group studied the experience of such countries as Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark, South Korea, Russia and Kazakhstan. As a result of this study, a blueprint was drawn up on information technology development in the higher education system of Uzbekistan in the years 2017-2021. It specifies tasks of further improving the information communication technology infrastructure in the higher education system in the next five years and main areas of improving e-education.
The introduction of information communication technologies in the higher education system will help to raise the quality of education and to ensure the transparency of work at higher educational institutions.
