The 8th Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art, dedicated to the Year of supporting active entrepreneurship, innovative ideas and technologies, will be held on October 9-14, 2018, at Tashkent and Bukhara Exhibition Halls of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
The event is aimed at ensuring implementation of tasks defined in the resolution of the President “On additional measures for development and further improvement of activities of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan” of August 16, 2017. In addition, this international exhibition is directed at supporting young talents, preservation and wide promotion of national traditions abroad, as well as development of contemporary art.
This year, Bukhara will host creative project events, which, in turn, will give an opportunity to attract attention of a large number of tourists. The exhibition will become another convenient opportunity for demonstration and summarization of activities, carried out on development of national fine arts, its schools and traditions, creating conditions for free and fruitful creativity of artists, photo documentalists, craftsmen, designers and sculptors of the country.
The exhibitions within the framework of Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art will be held at the Central Exhibition Hall, Youth Creativity Palace, Fine Arts Gallery of Uzbekistan, International Caravanserai of Culture named after Ikuo Hirayama, Tashkent House of Photography, Museum of Oriental Miniature Art named after Kamoliddin Behzod, State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, as well as at the Exhibition Halls of Regional Studies Museum in Ark Fortress and Sitorai Mohi Khosa Palace in Bukhara.
The Creative Association of Artists of Uzbekistan together with Research Institute of Art will host a conference with participation of foreign guests on development of contemporary art.
