The capital hosted the final of the Republican contest “The best innovative thinking 2016”. According to its results, the team from the Tashkent professional College of information technologies became the winner.

The contest has been held for many years by the British Council in Uzbekistan together with the Center of secondary special, professional education and several other organizations. It is open to students of professional colleges from all over the country. Traditionally the competition is held in three stages – within the college, and regional and national selections. 14 teams from all regions of our country competed in the finals.

The republican stage of the competition jury was comprised of representatives of various ministries and departments, partner organizations and the business sector. According to them, determining the winner was very difficult, because all projects were unique in their own way.

The contestants presented very different projects – from the development of decorative paving, glow in the dark, to the production of biologically active fertilizers, electricity, thermal energy and biogas from organic waste. The most interesting were the winners in various categories. For example, a team from Namangan won in the category “Innovative Learning”. A group of students from the Tashkent professional college of information technology, who won the competition this year, really showed the best innovative thinking. Their project called NGP – New Generation Project is an application for visualizing objects in three-dimensional format. The app allows users to freely consider the model of a house, a car, and architectural structures in 3D. In this case, you just bring your smartphone camera on a special sheet of paper on which the object parameters are set and you get a three-dimensional image of any object.

All the finalists of the contest “The best innovative thinking 2016” were awarded certificates and gifts, as well as the team – winner received a cash prize for the implementation of their project.
