Today, on October 20, the 5th international traditional textile festival “Atlas Bayram” is being held in the city of Margilan.
Happily, at the festival, the city of Margilan was awarded the status of “City of World Silk and Ikat Craftsmen”. The certificate was handed over by the president of the World Council of Craftsmen, Saad Al-Qaddumi, to the mayor of Margilan city, Adham Ziyavitdinov.
It is worth noting that this certificate ensures Margilan’s inclusion in the World Crafts Council network. This status further increases the important role of Margilan in the preservation of Uzbek crafts.
For information, the 5th international traditional textile festival “Atlas Bayram” will continue until October 22.
