Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan at a press conference told how in 2018 they will celebrate the Day of Defenders of the Motherland in accordance with the President’s Resolution of 7 December. The festive events will be held under “The National Army is the school of courage, perseverance and heroism of youth!” motto.
In December and during 2018, open days for students in military units, higher military educational institutions, and training schools for sergeants are expected.
On the eve of the holiday on January 5-10, military and patriotic festivals will be organized in Tashkent and regional centers. Their program includes the display of military equipment, armaments, concerts of military bands, demonstration performances by servicemen with hand-to-hand combat elements, as well as the presentation of the military technical and sports capabilities of the Watanparvar clubs. The coverage of these events will be organized on large-format street screens.
On January 10-15, military-patriotic actions “Music of military orchestras” are scheduled – military men will march along the central streets of the regional centers and Tashkent. In addition, there will be sport marathons with the participation of youth and military personnel.
Planned activities for military-patriotic education of youth. January 15 in high schools, lyceums, colleges and schools will be lessons of courage with the participation of servicemen and veterans of the Armed Forces.
Until January 10, training classes for primary military training of lyceums, colleges and schools should be completed.
