A seminar on “Alternative insurance distribution channels – bank insurance and cellular operators” in the framework of the Technical Assistance of the Asian Development Bank “The development of the insurance sector in Uzbekistan”, reports the official website of the Ministry of Finance www.mf.uz.
The event was attended by representatives of the ADB, the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Insurance Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance, researchers and scientists of Banking and Finance Academy, more than 40 experts of commercial banks and professional participants of the insurance market of Uzbekistan.
In the first session of the workshop international consultant ADB Armand Oz made a presentation on the topic of alternative sales channel for insurance – bank insurance. During the seminar it was disclosed in detail the similarities and contrast of products in banking and insurance activities, history and development.
In the second session it was addressed issues in sales of insurance products through mobile operators. This sales channel for insurance is very relevant in emerging markets – there were given examples of successful projects in Africa, Brazil and India.
