The development of the bicycle movement in Uzbekistan discussed – Uzbekistan News
A “round table” organized by the Ecological movement of Uzbekistan and the office of the OSCE project coordinator in Uzbekistan, aimed at promoting of cycling held in Tashkent.
The round table was attended by representatives of ministries and agencies, business entities and professionals of non-profit organizations working in the field of ecology and medicine, as well as activists of the ecological movement.
The tasks for development of infrastructure of transport, in particular road safety, the organization of bicycle rental, bicycle lanes and considering them when designing the urban infrastructure were discussed in the course of the event.
It was noted that in order to safely navigate the roads, the bike must be kept in a condition that meets all technical requirements, as well as audio signal and brake devices must work properly. The bike must be equipped with set of lights for driving in the dark – white is used on the front, red at the rear and to the side of the bike should be equipped with orange lights.
Move on bicycles need for a dedicated special places – cycle paths. In places where they are absent, the drive is at the right hand side of the road, as close as possible to the curb.
