otherside_midnightOn March 24 at the Art Gallery of Uzbekistan will be the opening of the exhibition project “The Other Side of Midnight” of British-Israeli sculptor Zadok Ben-David. It combines three sculptural installations of the author, according to press service of the NAEMM.

The exhibition project is a circle with a diameter of three meters, consisting of 2,000 butterflies and other insects, painted in fluorescent colors. To see how this cycle comes to life, the object is placed in a dark space with ultraviolet rays. The sculpture “Black Flowers” consists of 22 plants in height from 71 cm to 196 cm, hand-cut from a thin sheet of stainless steel and planted in sandy soil.

For the design of the author took 3 years of painstaking work with the participation of 10 assistants. Since 2008, the project was presented at the prestigious art sites of cities such as Shanghai (China), Seoul (Republic of Korea), London (UK), Berlin (Germany), Turin (Italy), Jerusalem (Israel), Los Angeles (USA ) and Sydney (Australia).
