pakistani_press1On the pages of the weekly newspaper of the Pakistani Election Times published an article devoted to the international conference in Tashkent on “Strengthening the autonomy and independence of the media – a guarantee of freedom of expression and information”.

As edition informs, the organizers of the event – the National Association of Electronic Mass Media of Uzbekistan (NAEMM), together with the Parliamentary Commission for the management of the assets of the Public Fund for Support of NGOs and other civil society institutions under the Oliy Majlis, representatives of the OSCE, UNESCO and the С.Adenauer Fund for Central Asia and others.

Special attention is given to the fact that more than 100 experts and professionals from 30 national government and public agencies, and more than 20 international organizations and foreign embassies attended the forum, as well as 50 media representatives from all regions of the country.

The publication notes that in the framework of the conference panel discussions were held, which were dedicated to the improvement of the legislative framework of media development and enforcement of legal acts in the field of media, strengthening their economic bases of activity as a factor of freedom and independence, role and importance of government support in the development of social-oriented media.
