The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Managing Director of the leading investment company Oppenheimer John Tonelli, in New York.
The prospects for implementing projects in Uzbekistan with the involvement of capital from this significant investment bank with assets of $36 billion were considered.
John Tonelli noted with satisfaction the agreements reached to attract private investment in major projects to create and modernize industrial capacities in the country.
In the first stage, these are financing projects for developing textile clusters, enterprises in the building materials industry, and infrastructural development of the city of Tashkent.
In addition, it is planned to direct investments to support small and medium-sized businesses.
The President of Uzbekistan approved these plans and instructed the responsible persons to begin practical work as soon as possible.
