The situation in Karakalpakstan is stabilizing

The situation is stabilizing in all regions of Karakalpakstan after the riots that took place on the central streets of Nukus on July 1-2 this year.

The visit of the President to the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the meeting with deputies of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and members of the public call on the population for unity and solidarity.

Agitation work is being carried out among residents, in particular representatives of the older generation, so that young people draw the right conclusions from the events that have taken place, and not succumb to all sorts of malicious appeals and actions.

Manufacturing enterprises and labor collectives began to function as usual. Transport is operating. Service centers are again serving the population.

For reference, on July 1, 2022, a group of people in the city of Nukus, disguised with false slogans, misled people, disobeyed the lawful demands of the authorities, tried to seize the buildings of local civil society institutions, causing chaos. Ignoring the demands to maintain public order, the troublemakers continued their acts of vandalism on July 2 as well. In the course of these actions, infrastructure facilities in Nukus were significantly damaged. Windows of buildings were broken, fires started. Several groups tried to seize the buildings of the Nukus City Police Department and the National Guard Department to seize weapons. Using numerical superiority, these individuals attacked law enforcement officers, severely beat them and inflicted severe bodily harm. Unfortunately, as a result, there are casualties among civilians and law enforcement officers.

Therefore, by the decree of the Head of the state, a state of emergency was introduced from July 3 to August 2, 2022, to ensure the safety of citizens, protect their rights and freedoms, restore law and order on the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Today, people of the region comply with the rules of the state of emergency, drawing appropriate conclusions from this.
