On April 21, 2016, Ottawa held the sixth round of Uzbek-Canadian ministerial political consultations, reports the press service of Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan.
The delegation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canada was headed by the Director General of Europe and Eurasia Bureau Matthew Levin.
The sides exchanged views on the range of bilateral relations.
Parties discussed the implementation of agreements reached during the fifth round of political consultations early 2015 in Tashkent.
During the meeting it was noted that Uzbekistan and Canada are interested in the progressive development of cooperation in various fields. In this regard, the special attention was paid to the prospects of deepening of bilateral relations, implementation of existing substantial potential for cooperation in trade, economic, investment, tourism and other spheres.
The sides also discussed the topical problems of international and regional scale, including the situation in Afghanistan.
