The winners of the “One Million Uzbek Coders” project awarded

Winners of the joint project of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates “One Million Uzbek Coders” (OMUC) were awarded in Tashkent.

The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, as well as senior officials of state bodies and ministries, and foreign guests.

The “One Million Uzbek Coders” project covers the entire country. Its goal is reflected in government programs as one of the priority areas on the way to creating a new Uzbekistan.

The “One Million Uzbek Coders” project is a free online platform for teaching the population about programming and digital skills. The platform covers the four most popular areas: data analytics, android development, front-end development, and full-stack development.

The total number of students registered for training in the “One Million Uzbek Coders” project exceeds 2 million 500 thousand people. Of these, 1,557,977 received participation certificates. It is gratifying that 90 percent of the total number of participants are schoolchildren, and 47 percent of the project participants are girls. In the context of regions, Khorezm, Namangan, Andijan and Samarkand regions are leading in terms of the number of registered users of the portal.

The awards were held in 6 categories: “The most active region”, “The most active university”, “The most active school”, “The most active mentor”, “The most active student” and “The most active family”.

The winners were awarded an annual license for training on the Coursera platform and gifts.

Achievements within the framework of the “One Million Uzbek Coders” project are important for the implementation of the goals and objectives of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy.
