The interest of foreign tourists to extreme tourism in the Republic of Karakalpakstan is growing. The number of travelers in extreme conditions along the Ustyurt plateau and the Aral Sea is increasing every year.
As an exception, tour operators registered in Karakalpakstan are allowed to make customs payments in the amount of 25 percent of the current rate for imported vehicles of the increased passability with an engine capacity not less than 2.4 liters with installments for 5 years for the organization of extreme tours. Such vehicles will be issued state registration plates of individual series for using exclusively on the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
As a result of these benefits, Karakalpak tour operators can now purchase off-road vehicles (“Jeep”, “Toyota” and others) for organizing tours around Ustyurt, the Aral Sea and other places of extreme tourism.
