President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev acquainted himself on 3 February with the pace of construction of modern multi-storey apartment houses in Sergeli district of Tashkent.

Thanks to peace and calm reigning in Uzbekistan and people’s conscientious work, this country is developing comprehensively. Large-scale construction and improvement work is being carried out in all its towns and villages, and the population’s quality of life is rising with every passing year.

At the initiative of the country’s First President Islam Karimov, improvement work has been carried out in many towns. Today the results of this work can be seen in Tashkent, Nukus, Urgench, Bukhara, Andijon, Farghona, Namangan, Samarqand, Karshi, Termiz and other towns.

In accordance with a plan for construction work in the years 2016-2017, 102 modern multi-storey houses consisting of 4284 apartments are being built in Sergeli district of the capital city. This big project will make it possible to satisfy the requirements of thousands of families for housing. Most importantly, the housing will be provided on the basis of privileged mortgage loans.

In the eve of the 26th anniversary of the Motherland’s independence, 66 such houses are to be commissioned. There will be educational establishments, small business and private entrepreneurship entities and services facilities near them.

Our main goal is to create conveniences for people and to raise their wellbeing, the president of the country said. When allocating these houses, it is necessary to strictly observe principles of fairness. Only then will the country’s people be contented and will look to tomorrow with greater confidence. Considering people’s requirements, 10 such houses are to be built in every district of Tashkent.

The head of state gave officials and specialists recommendations on the construction of such houses in complete conformity with modern requirements and on the provision of the most developed infrastructure for them.
