A track and field athletics centre has been put into use in the capital city.
At the opening ceremony of the centre, the chairman of the physical training and sports state committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, R.Kurbonov, and others said that as a result of special attention paid in recent years to the further popularization of Olympic sports, particularly track and field athletics, in this country, modern sports facilities are being built and put into use in all the regions of Uzbekistan.
So far hundreds of sports facilities have been built in this country, where young people regularly train in their favourite sports.
One of these sports facilities is the track and field athletics centre that has been put into use in Tashkent. All the necessary conditions have been created there.
“In the sports complex, there are all the necessary conditions for training,” says B.Mirtemirov, the deputy chairman of the track and field athletics federation of Uzbekistan.
This track and field athletics centre is the only such facility in Central Asia, and it completely meets world standards. It has 9 running tracks and many sectors.
Also in building of the sports complex, there are a hostel for 72 people, a training hall, a swimming pool, a locker room and medical rooms that have been provided with modern equipment.
