Foreign experts gave a high opinion of the agricultural potential of Uzbekistan, which was presented at the Baku international exhibitions WorldFood Azerbaijan 2016 and Caspian Agro 2016.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Fund for Exports and Investment Promotion (AZPROMO), the National Confederation of Entrepreneur Organizations set up the exhibition that was attended by more than 300 companies fr om 34 countries.

It was an integrated platform wh ere manufacturers of agricultural machinery demonstrated their goods and technologies, equipment for animal husbandry and poultry farming, veterinary drugs, fertilizers, feed and additives, mini-garden equipment and refrigeration systems, ready-made fruit and vegetable and dairy products.

The Uzbek exposition was organized by the Agency for Restructuring the Agricultural Enterprises of Uzbekistan. Excellent opportunity to establish partnerships and mutually beneficial contacts in the distance is offered by Trade Uzbekistan – a foreign trade online marketplace of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade. It aroused great interest, and foreign experts praised the progress achieved by Uzbekistan in the development of the agricultural sector, a dynamic economic progress as well as favorable conditions for successful investment activity. Adviser to the Chamber of Commerce of Greece D.Ntinapogias, noting that today Uzbekistan is the only country in the vast region, whose economy continues to grow steadily, said: “Foreign businesses continue to actively invest, in particular, in the sphere of agriculture, and implement major joint projects. The country’s high-quality fruits and vegetable products are exported to many nations. Hopefully, prolific cooperation will be established in the near future between the Greek and Uzbek enterprises in the agricultural sector. We are interested in buying dried fruits from Uzbekistan that significantly differ from their foreign counterparts in taste.”

The representative of the agricultural company DEMPO (Turkey) T.Okuay said that Uzbekistan is one of the leading countries in the production and exports of fruits and vegetables and other agricultural products. This, in his opinion, is the result of the active development of the country’s agricultural sector.

“For us, the representatives of the services sector, the priority is the market of your country,” says the head of procurement department at the network of Azerbaijan supermarkets ARAZSupermarket V.Karazade. “The information presented today will necessarily be used, and in the near future we will be able to establish productive and mutually advantageous cooperation. It should be noted that in early July, our representatives will visit Uzbekistan for more detailed negotiations.”
