World Chess Championship among schoolchildren that has ended in Romania was marked by the triumph of Uzbekistan’s young representatives.

Three gold medals in classical chess, “gold” and “silver” in blitz and the second team place – this is an excellent result of the performance of juniors of Uzbekistan!

Only five representatives of our country went to the championship. This, apparently, was only those who really claimed for the awards of the championship.

In the youngest group among boys under 7, our Humoyun Begmuratov confidently led throughout the entire distance of nine rounds. He did not suffer a single defeat and, gaining 8.5 points, took first place, ahead of the nearest pursuer by 1.5 points.

In the group of girls under 9, Afruza Hamdamova (Uzbekistan) showed her character after the defeat in the third round and did not reduce the winning pace until the end of the tournament. As a result, with 7.5 points she became the winner of the championship.

Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Yakubboev has won “gold” among boys before 15 years, showing a very meaningful game in many games.
