President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the progress of metro construction in Sergeli district.
Construction of Sergeli line of Tashkent Metro, the length of which is 7.1 kilometers, is planned to be completed by 2020. The line is being built on a new for Central Asia trestle method. The stations will be adapted to receive trains of 4 wagons. Elevators and escalators will be installed at the stations for the convenience of passengers.
Within the framework of the project with a total cost of 105 million dollars, it is planned to install 265 paired supports, to build 6 passenger stations and 6 power supply stations. The line will be able to serve 15 thousand passengers per day.
At present, construction activities are carried out on a 5-kilometer stretch. 130 paired supports have already been installed, 60 spans have been laid over them, work has begun on installation of connecting beams.

More than 70 units of machinery and mechanisms, 350 qualified engineers and workers are involved in construction activities. Until the end of this year, it is planned to complete the installation of reinforced concrete structures at 6 kilometers and construction of 3 metro stations.
The Head of the state got acquainted with the progress of activities, emphasized that the metro should be of high-quality, convenient and safe.
