University of Uzbek Language and Literature to accept 300 students

Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi will receive about 300 students in new 2016-2017 academic year.

The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On organization of the activities of Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi” on 13 May 2016. The resolution set quota for new academic year.

According to the resolution, half of total number of undergraduate students will study on the bases of state grants and others – on contract bases.

The University will accept 80 students to the Faculty of Philology of the Uzbek language, 120 students – to the Faculty of Uzbek language and literature, and 100 students to the Faculty of Theory and Practice of Uzbek-English translation.

Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi was created in line with the presidential decree from 13 May 2016.

The university will be founded on the bases of faculty of Uzbek philology of National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, faculty of Uzbek language and literature of Tashkent State Pedagogic University named after Nizami, as well as Institute of languages and literature named after Alisher Navoi of Uzbekistan Science Academy.
