JSC “Uzavtosanoat” (Uzbekistan automobile industry) organized a workshop for entrepreneurs wishing to expand production activities in order to reduce the cost of import-substituting products and increase the degree of localization.
Chairman of Board of “Uzavtosanoat” U.Salimov noted that increasing the level of localization of finished products, reducing the dependence of production on external factors, introduction of new and efficient technologies are important tasks.
There were only 4 domestic suppliers in Uzbekistan in the first years of development of the automotive industry, which produced 12 types of components, to date the number of local suppliers has exceeded one hundred, and they produce more than 2,5 thousand kinds of components.
– By the end of the year, having localized the production of 480 parts, we will reduce imports by 10 percent, said U.Salimov. – We can achieve these results by systematically analyzing the volume and structure of imports, deepening the process of localization of production, increasing production of export-oriented products, further developing intra-industry and intersectoral industrial cooperation.
At the event, suggestions were made on improvement the normative-legal framework of the industry.
