On 27 February 2018, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil with the residence in Moscow Antonio Luis Espinola Salgado.
Accepting credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan and wished every success.
During the conversation, proposals for further development of relations were considered.
As noted, Uzbekistan and Brazil, despite their geographical distance, consider each other as promising partners and are interested in full-scale implementation of the existing potentials of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment-technological, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other areas.
The sides exchanged views on activation of Uzbek-Brazilian ties, giving them a more systematic character.
In the context of discussion of international and regional issues, the Brazilian side was informed on the agenda of the international conference on Afghanistan “Peace process, cooperation in the sphere of security and regional cooperation”, which will be held in Tashkent on 26-27 March 2018.
