It was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, reports National Information Agency.

Cooperation between Uzbekistan and India is consequently developing, including in the pharmaceutical sector.

At the event it was noted that an important legal basis for the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan is the Law “On medicines and pharmaceutical activity”. In accordance with this in our country to take sustained measures to increase the range of import substitution and increasing export potential of the sector. A significant role in this process is the SJC “Uzpharmsanoat” which expands domestic production of drugs, biological products and diagnostic devices, as well as developing a system providing the population with the necessary medicines.

Uzbek representatives of pharmaceutical companies told about the potential of Uzbekistan in the industry. In our country, there are about 1150 species of medicinal plants, out of which more than 1400 kinds of modern medicines. Scientists 8 specialized research institutes are working on new drugs that increases the number of producers, an increase in domestic production of drugs, improve product quality.

Manufacture of drugs and medical devices is increasing due to attract investment. Thus, under the Investment Program for 2014-2016 years will be implemented more than 50 relevant business projects.

Pharmaceutical companies of Uzbekistan is working closely with leading companies in Germany, China, South Korea, India, Russia, Turkey, Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and other countries.

Representatives of business circles of India praised the achievements of the pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan and talked about his own experience in this field.

– The holding of this business forum is of great importance for both sides – said the regional director of the Council on the promotion of exports of pharmaceutical products in India (Pharmexcil) Abhay Singh. – In addition to the exchange of experience, we have outlined the prospects for further cooperation.
