Uzbekistan adopts state programme “The Year of healthy children”

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov with his resolution from 19 February approved a state programme “The Year of healthy children”.

According to the resolution, Uzbekistan will direct about 4.51 trillion soums and US$302.9 million to implementation of the state programme “The Year of healthy children”.

The programme consists of seven chapters and 125 points, which covers all issues related to upbringing healthy and education children, strengthening family.

In particular, the programme envisages further improving legislation to create all conditions to form healthy and harmonically developed generation.

Within the programme, it is planned to continue reforms in healthcare and education spheres. The programme includes measures directed at developing sports and developing children based on national and general common values.

The programme envisages measures on improving activities of pre-school educational establishments and strengthening family institute.

Uzbekistan plans to start construction of modern children medical center of the fourth level, which will have no analogues in the CIS and it will be equipped with latest medical equipment. It is also planned to construct medical centers and establishments across Uzbekistan.

In November 2014, Tashkent will host an international forum “Social partnership in the name of children: advanced local and foreign experience”.

As reported earlier, on 6 December 2013, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov announced 2014 as the Year of healthy children in Uzbekistan.
