The Uzbekistan national football team in the match of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Asian Qualifiers Third Round beat China with a score of 2:0.
In the third qualifying round, 12 Asian teams are divided into two groups to play home-and-away matches. The top two teams of each group will qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The two third-placed teams will advance to the inter-confederation play-offs.
The National Football Team of Uzbekistan has taken place in the Group A, together with teams from Iran, South Korea, China, Qatar and Syria.
At the first stage, the representatives of our country defeated Syria in the home-match with a score of 1:0. In the second stage, Uzbekistan played away-match with the Syrian team and won with a minimum score.
At the next match of the group, held at the stadium “Bunyodkor” in Tashkent, our players defeated the Chinese players with a score of 2:0. Marat Bikmaev and Otabek Shukurov became the authors of goals that brought the victory of our team.
After this victory, the National Football Team of Uzbekistan ranked second in the group with nine points.
In this stage, the Iranian players have played home-match against the national team of South Korea, and won with a score of 1:0. Football players from Qatar will compete with the Syrian team.
The Uzbekistan national football team will play away-match against the national team of South Korea on November 15.
