Enterprises of textile and knitting industry of “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” (Uzbekistan textile industry) Association will take part in the 23rd International Fair of Textile Industry “Baltic Fashion & Textile Riga 2018” in Latvia, on April 12-14, 2018. This was reported by the Press Service of the Association.
The Agency for Advertising and Marketing of Textile Products at “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association has reserved an area for organizing a National stand of the Republic of Uzbekistan with an area of 30 sq.m in order to establish direct contacts with potential buyers of light industry products, as well as to conclude export contracts with them.
Representatives of textile, sewing and knitting industry of Uzbekistan will hold presentations on production, export and investment potential of textile enterprises of Uzbekistan.
Participation in the fair will contribute to promotion and presentation of domestic light industry enterprises, innovative achievements, to the wide familiarization of foreign visitors and fair participants with scientific production potential of the republic, as well as provide broad opportunities for various investment projects with Latvian and international companies.
Latvia is one of the main trade partners of Uzbekistan in the EU. The two countries have a set of agreements on industrial and economic cooperation, investment promotion and their protection, as well as avoidance of double taxation.
There are 3 trading houses of textile, sewing and knitting industry enterprises in Latvia, which serve to promoting domestic light industry products to the markets of European countries. Textile products worth $1.7 million were exported to Latvia in 2017.
According to the International Exhibition Company BT 1, more than 9 thousand stakeholders from 26 countries attend the fair each year. Last year, it was attended by 203 companies, of which 69% were foreign participants. The product range presented during the fair included ready-to-wear garments, fabrics and supplies, home textiles, knitted products, fashion accessories and jewellery, production equipment and innovation, sewing accessories and supplies, leathers.
