UZBEKISTAN PRESENTED AT TOURISM FAIR IN BELGIUM

Leuven city has hosted popular tourism fair organized each year by one of the leading Belgian tour operators – Hobo Reisen.

This year, it presented tourism potential of more than 50 countries. Colorful exposition of Uzbekistan occupied special place among them which was launched with the support of our country’s embassy in Belgium. At our section visitors can get in touch with the Uzbek culture and folk arts and crafts, get acquainted with the enormous potential of the republic in the sphere of tourism.

In the framework of the fair there was conducted a wide presentation of tourist potential of Uzbekistan and its regions. In particular, a documentary film was presented telling about the rich historical and cultural heritage of our people, climatic features and unique attractions of the country.

Taking into account the great interest of the Belgians in Uzbekistan, exhibition-fair organizers assigned a tour leader with knowledge of Flemish, French and English, who has professionally presented the information about the historical cities of the country, such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz to potential visitors.

Fair in Leuven showed increasing attention of Europeans to our country, as evidenced by the opinion of its participants and organizers. The reporter of Jahon talked to some of them.

Thus, the president of Hobo Reisen Audrey Gotz welcomed traditional participation of Uzbekistan in the largest tourist forum.

– The country has great potential which are of great interest among tourists fr om Belgium and other European countries. It is rich due to its ancient history and unique culture, magnificent monuments. Also, today in Uzbekistan a variety of modern forms of tourism develops, all necessary conditions are created for foreign guests. Therefore, the people who have visited your republic, returned with unforgettable memories and warm feedback.

I am confident that in 2017 tourist traffic from Europe to Uzbekistan will continue to increase wh ere the hospitality industry is rapidly developing. We are pleased to continue our fruitful cooperation with Uzbek colleagues.

Tourleader of the company Hobo Reisen Paul Rusk noted the contribution of the great ancestors of the Uzbek people, famous and world-renowned scientists, thinkers, philosophers and poets such as al-Khwarizmi, Ibn Sino, Beruni, al-Fergana, al-Bukhari, al-Tirmidhi, Imam Maturidi , Bakhauddin Naqshbandi, and many others in the development of not only Islamic, but also of human civilization. He stressed that their imperishable works occupy a special place in the treasury of world science, culture and art.

– I call wonderful Samarkand as “Paris of the East”, Bukhara – a unique educational center, and Khiva – a beautiful fairy tale. The flow of those who wish to learn and see the cities, increases annually.

I hope that this year I will have another opportunity to visit the historic gems of the East – a complex of Shahi Zinda, Registan ensemble, the mausoleum of Amir Temur, causing admiration throughout the world.

The manager of Flanders tourism companies union Karin Dzhirofli praised the current level of tourist services in our country.

– We can see that over the years of independence Uzbekistan has done extensive work on the advancement of tourist infrastructure – built modern hotels, radically transformed collar. I am sure that the unique architectural monuments of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, some of which are included in the UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage, will continue to contribute to the growth of tourist flow into the country. This is confirmed by the fact that, despite the economic difficulties, the number of Belgian tourists visiting Uzbekistan, is growing steadily.
