Uzbekistan – Tajikistan – Korean Business Forum

On October 10, a trilateral business forum of entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and South Korea was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The event was attended by representatives of ministries, agencies and companies from three countries operating in the spheres of economy, investment, finance, trade, tourism, logistics, energy, electrical engineering, food, chemical, pharmaceutical, light industry, agriculture and others. Issues of bringing trade-economic, investment cooperation of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and South Korea to a new level were discussed at the event. Views were exchanged on prospects of implementation of investment projects with participation of foreign capital in the territory of partner countries.
The forum, initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, is aimed at discussing issues of implementation of joint projects in Tajikistan with participation of capital and business people of Uzbekistan and South Korea, developing cooperation with Tajikistan’s enterprises.
Information was provided on conditions created for investors in Uzbekistan, opportunities for free economic and small industrial zones, tax and customs privileges. Possibilities of joint implementation of projects in energy, agriculture, tourism, communications and financial services were considered.
Participants of the event visited a number of industrial enterprises and farms in Tajikistan. They became acquainted with the technological process of the country’s companies.
Representatives of business circles of Uzbekistan took part in negotiations with Tajikistan and South Korean businessmen at B2B and G2B meetings.
Agreements on investment cooperation were signed at the forum.
