Uzbekistan to adopt law “On combating corruption”

The decree of Interim President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed the Prosecutor General’s office together with the Supreme court, Ministry of justice, Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan to develop the draft Law “On combating corruption” within two months.

The law, first and foremost should be aimed at further strengthening the confidence of citizens and entrepreneurs to public authorities, improving the investment attractiveness of the Republic, as well as the prevention of corruption offences.

It is also planned to adopt laws “On administrative procedures”, “On public procurement” and “On state private partnership”, based on internationally recognized standards, as part of improving the legal framework for combating corruption, reducing administrative barriers in the interaction between state and business, ensuring openness and transparency in the use of public resources.
