Uzbekistan to develop a law on protection of children from harmful information

Uzbekistan will develop a law “On protection of under ages from information, harming their physical and spiritual development” in 2014.

New law will be developed within the implementation of the state programme “The Year of healthy children”.

As reported earlier, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov with his resolution from 19 February approved a state programme “The Year of healthy children”.

The law “On protection of under ages from information, harming their physical and spiritual development” will be directed at creating organizational-legal mechanisms for protection of children from information, which harm their physical and spiritual development, as well as preventing promotion of cruelty and violence in mass media.

Uzbekistan also plans to develop laws “On physical culture and sport” in new edition”, “On sanitary-epidemiologic well-being of population”, “On changes and amendments to law “On education”, “On main bases of youth policy in Uzbekistan” in new edition.

As reported earlier, on 6 December 2013, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov announced 2014 as the Year of healthy children in Uzbekistan.
