On April 5-10, 2019, Termez city of Surkhandarya region will host the first International Bakhshi Art Festival, which will be held at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
As reported by the Press Service of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the festival will be held in early April, once in 2 years, in order to widely familiarize the public with unique samples of Uzbek national art of bakhshi narrators, increase youth’s respect and interest in this type of art, strengthen friendship of fraternal people, expand creative ties and cultural cooperation internationally.
