Uzbekistan’s tourism industry attracts attention of foreign companies

A number of leading Japanese tourism companies – JTB Corporation, Hankyu Travel, World Air-Sea Service, Overseas Tour Operators Association of Japan (OTOA) and Japanese Association of Travel Agents (JATA) published articles on the tourist potential of Uzbekistan.

They noted that our country has great resources for the development of the tourism industry. Its geographical location makes it a kind of bridge between different civilizations, and the number of monuments of different eras, located in the country, are more than 7000. Many of them are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

“Just one city of Samarkand, the pearl of the East have such world famous attractions as the architectural ensemble of Registan, Ulugbek observatory, Bibi Khanum Mosque, built by order of Amir Temur and the famous mausoleum of Amir Temur. All of them are considered to be some of the best specimens of architecture of its time. The minarets, mosques, trade domes, bazaars, havuzy-ponds and squares of Bukhara and Khiva also amaze visitors with their grandeur and unique architecture”, – the article noted.

Along with this, JTB Corporation informed readers in a detail about the republic’s attention to the development of the sector. “Decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated July 27, 1992 created “Uzbektourism” National Company which became a new stage in the formation of a national model of tourism development, and the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Tourism”, adopted in 1999 and more than 30 regulations, which are the results of the activities of Parliament in later years, became a reliable legal foundation for the industry”, – the publication informed.

World Air-Sea Service’s article, dedicated to the tourist infrastructure created in our country, emphasized that the network of transport system of Uzbekistan meets all international requirements. “The current airport of international class in the country, particularly in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Ferghana, Navoi, and flights of NAC “Uzbekistan Airways” on Boeing and Airbus airliners are made in more than 50 cities in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America. High-speed train Afrosiyob runs by rail routes Tashkent-Samarkand and Tashkent-Karshi”, – the portal informed.

In turn, Hankyu Travel noted that foreign visitors, who came to the country, get a good service. “Uzbekistan is represented by a network of major world famous hotels like Radisson, Lotte, Ramada, Wyndham, and for small groups and family tourists the services are provided by private institutions. For businessmen, involved in the provision of tourist services, there are great opportunities for the development of their activities. Thus, 1279 tourist organizations today operate in the country, including 548 hotels, hostels and camp sites, 731 travel company”, – the publication emphasized.

Japanese tour operators are also informed that the country has made great progress in the creation of new types of tourism and recreation, such as ecotourism, geotourism, extreme, health and cultural areas, as well as mountain climbing, rafting, fishing.

According to sources, all these indicate to the well-thought-out policy of the Authority, which is carried out in the area.
