UZBEKTOURISM DELEGATION VISITS REPUBLIC OF KOREA

From 21 November to 2 December, the delegation of the National Company Uzbektourism visited the Republic of Korea.

The Uzbek delegation held meetings with representatives of tourist associations, visited a number of provinces, objects of cultural and natural heritage, protected areas of South Korea.

Representatives of Uzbektourism organized the presentation of tourist potential of Uzbekistan, according to UzA.

Participants of the presentation were told about the rich historical-cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, were presented information about the world famous masterpieces of Oriental architecture in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Kashkadarya, Karakalpakstan and other regions of our country, and measures to further develop the tourism and related infrastructure, raising the export of tourist services, training of highly qualified personnel in the industry.

The Ministry of culture, sports and tourism of the Republic of Korea conducted a series of events dedicated to the development of bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector in the framework of the training “learning the experience of tourism of South Korea”. In cooperation with South Korean experts, the Uzbek delegation discussed the current state and prospects of development of cooperation in tourism, held an exchange of experience on the support of ecotourism development.

Fundamental reforms carried out under the leadership of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov resulted in the consistent development of modern tourism infrastructure, creation of all conditions for tourists. In recent years, Uzbekistan has been actively introducing new types of travel, including in the area of environmental tourism. Available reserves, national parks, nurseries, nature reserves, natural monuments, biosphere reserve make the ecotourism a promising direction.

Today tourism is one of the leading sectors of the world economy. In this regard, Uzbekistan pays particular attention towards the modernization of tourism industry, the development and improvement of the regulatory framework for the sustainable development of the industry, the organization of services in accordance with international standards. Over the years of independence, our country has made a significant breakthrough in this area, preserving and enchansing the historical and cultural heritage of the people, reviving national traditions and customs, restoring and constructing places of interest.

Measures adopted in this direction resulted in raising the number of tourists. More than 2 million people from different parts of the world visit Uzbekistan annually. Most tourists come from Germany, France, Italy, the Republic of Korea, Japan, China, Malaysia, Russia, and India.

– Uzbekistan has a great reputation in the international tourism market, – a Professor at the University of Kenkhi Kim Cheol-won said. – Ancient monuments, rich cultural heritage, demonstrating the identity of the people of Uzbekistan attract the attention of the world and tourists. There are many people in South Korea who wish to travel in Uzbekistan. Constant attention paid in your country towards tourism development, creates good conditions for foreign guests. We intend to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation with travel companies and firms of Uzbekistan.

The visit of the representatives of the tourism industry of Uzbekistan was full of interesting presentations, win-win negotiations.

According to the participants, the training was fruitful, thanks to which representatives of Uzbekistan established close contacts with South Korean experts of the tourism industry, exchanged views and experiences on the development of benchmarking in the tourism industry.

Meetings and events also gave an insight into the latest trends of the South Korean tourism market, allowed to expand cooperation in this field, to demonstrate the possibilities of our country in this field.
