Within the framework of bilateral military cooperation program between the defense ministries of Uzbekistan and the United States, a group of teachers and cadets of the West Point Academy visited the Academy of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan.
The United States Military Academy, also known as West Point, is the oldest higher federal military educational institution of the US Army.
A group of eight cadets and two teachers became familiar with the activity of the Academy of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, the museum of the educational institution. The guests were pleasantly surprised when they saw a book about West Point in one of the expositions.
Guests were impressed by the regional studies classes of the Academy of the Armed Forces, dedicated to the People’s Liberation Army of China, the Bundeswehr, the army of South Korea.
The Cadets had the opportunity to communicate directly with the cadets of the general military faculty of the Academy of the Armed Forces. Since both sides were represented by the fourth year cadets, the main questions were: is it possible to choose the type of troops themselves, do they know where to begin the officers’ service.
