As of October 1, 2018, the resident population of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 33085.2 thousand people and since the beginning of the year increased by 428.5 thousand people, or 1.3%. In particular, the urban population amounted to 16728.2 thousand people (50.6% of the total population), the rural population – 16357.0 thousand people (49.4%).
Analysis by regions of the country showed that as of October 1, 2018, the largest population was observed in Samarkand – 3,777.8 thousand and Fergana – 3,665.6 thousand people, and the smallest in Syrdarya – 825.8 thousand people and Navoi – 969.7 thousand people.
As of October 1, 2018, the resident population in Tashkent amounted to 2,497.9 thousand people and since the beginning of the year increased by 33.0 thousand people, or 1.3%.
