WINNERS OF “SEVEN WONDERS OF UZBEKISTAN” CAMPAIGN AWARDED

The campaign on nationwide identification of the seven wonders of Uzbekistan concluded with the festive event. The ceremony was held as part of the Library Week INFOLIB-2016 at the National Library named after Alisher Navoi.

The head of the Center UZINFOCOM Gayrathodja Saidaliev, Head of Department for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tolibjon Mirzakulov and Head of management department of the Ministry of Culture and Sports Giyosiddin Redjabov, made their welcoming speech. The noted the importance of the campaign for the collection and promotion of information about our history, architectural and natural treasures.

In a solemn ceremony, the heads of each of the seven wonders were presented with commemorative plaques, confirming their entry into “Seven Wonders of Uzbekistan”.

Meros.uz Project Coordinator Zumrad Shadjalilova introduced the participants of the ceremony with the course of campaign and its results.

The People’s Artist of Uzbekistan and the winner of the state award named after Alisher Navoi – Sherali Juraev performed at the event. In his opening speech, he said kind words about the importance of cultural heritage and presented certificates to winners of the campaign.

The winners of the vote are the followings:

1. The ensemble of Registan (Samarkand)

2. Museum of Art. Named after I.V. Savitsky (Nukus)

3. Tashkent Tower (Tashkent)

4. The Forum Palace (Tashkent)

5. Observatory of Ulugbek (Samarkand)

6. The ancient city of Ichan-Kala (Khiva)

7. Gur-Emir Mausoleum (Samarkand)
