Women’s entrepreneurship being supported

A seminar has taken place in Marhamat District of Andijon Region on issues of developing small business and private entrepreneurship, creating jobs and further widening opportunities for people, especially graduates of vocational colleges and women, to use banking services.

Banking specialists, entrepreneurs and craftswomen as well as graduates of vocational colleges attended the event held by the central council of the Uzbekistan Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party in cooperation with the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan and the Mikrocreditbank joint stock commercial bank.

“This year, nearly 21 thousand girls are graduating from vocational colleges in the region, and 2870 of them have expressed a desire to embark on entrepreneurial activities,” says Manzurakhon Yunusova, deputy hokim (deputy governor) of Andijon Region and chairwoman of the regional women’s committee.

During the seminar, speeches were heard on the subject of “Supporting women’s entrepreneurship is a priority task” and “Procedures and reasons for obtaining bank credits”.

Within the framework of the event, products made by enterprising women and craftswomen, works of craftsmanship and handicrafts made by girl graduates of colleges as well as national dresses were put on display.
