Uzbek sportsman Dmitry Shokin won a gold medal of the 2015 World Summer Universiade in Gwangju (South Korea).
As National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reports, Dmitry Shokin clinched a gold medal in taekwondo competitions of the Universiade in the weight category of over 87 kg.
The Uzbek athlete defeated Adrian Cabo Esteban of Spain, Kaan Kilic of Turkey and Mehran Askari of Iran to reach finals of the tournament. Shokin beat Yoonkeun Park of South Korea to clinch the first place.
This is the first medal of Uzbekistan at the Universiade. In general medal classification, Uzbekistan holds the 37th place.
