Now 23 cities, 922 urban settlements and 994 rural settlements do not have approved town planning documentation. The situation will be rectified in the framework of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to provide general plans of settlements in 2018-2022, to improve the activities of project organizations, and to improve the quality of training specialists in the field of urban development”, which provides for the following measures:
The program for the development of draft general plans for towns and urban settlements of the republic for 2018-2022, the Program for the development of architectural and planning projects for the territories of gatherings of kishlaks (auls) with simultaneous development of detailed planning of settlements for
2018-2019 and integrated measures to improve the quality of urban planning documentation, the development of the activities of design and survey organizations, as well as improving training and improving the skills of specialists in urban planning were approved.

The approval of development programs for town planning documentation will make it possible to provide city-planning documentation in a short period of time with all cities and a number of urban settlements and rural areas, which will positively affect the further improvement of the architectural appearance of settlements, prevent the facts of chaotic and unauthorized building of streets and other territories, that is, the whole will contribute to improving the comfort level of the population.
The result of the new urban planning policy should be the formation of a favorable environment for the life of the population, well-equipped settlements with a developed industrial, social and engineering infrastructure.
