04.08.2014 Bukhara hosted a seminar on the further democratization of the national electoral legislation.
According to UzA, the event was attended by chairmen of election commissions for elections to provincial, municipal and district councils of people’s senators and their deputies, secretaries, heads of organizational and control groups of local hokimiyats.
During the workshop, there was an exchange of views about made changes and additions which were put forward to the electoral law under President Islam Karimov within the Concept of further deepening democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country.
Particularly noted that the measures taken to further liberalize and improve this area are an important factor in the elections in accordance with democratic requirements and generally accepted international standards.
