Russian medicines manufacturers intend to 2018 to exceed the $ 60 million mark by the volume of supplies to Uzbekistan
According to experts, the total volume of Uzbek imports of this product last year was $ 525 million, and the volume of Russian supplies – about $ 50 million. Based on the positive dynamics of growth in recent years, the volume of Russian medicines exports in 2017 is projected at $ 56 million, and in 2018 – more than $ 60 million.
Such indicators will be achieved through a number of joint projects. In particular, in the second half of 2016, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan (now transformed into the Ministry of Foreign Trade) expressed interest in intensifying contacts with Russian producers of medicines in order to increase their purchases.
This position was fixed in the protocol of the 18th meeting of the Uzbek-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which was held in February in Tashkent. The result of the agreements was the visit to Uzbekistan this year of representatives of 13 major Russian pharmaceutical companies from Moscow, Tatarstan, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Ryazan and other regions.
Russian manufacturers held a presentation of their products at the international specialized exhibition in Tashkent. As a result, agreements were reached with Uzbek partners to supply Russian goods. Also, interest in opening joint ventures was revealed.
Earlier, to optimize export supplies, the Uzbek side signed a memorandum of cooperation with one of the largest profile Russian companies, Pharmstandard. The purpose of the document, which lasts three years, is the establishment of mutually beneficial long-term and confidential cooperation in providing medicines.
It should be reminded that the government of Uzbekistan in late September 2017 decided to allocate additional funding of 240 billion soums (currency rates of CB RU from 27.10.2017, 1$= 8069,61 soum) for the purchase of socially important medicines and medical products for public health institutions. In addition, if necessary, the Ministry of Finance will allocate an interest-free budget loan in the amount of 300 billion soums to support the sphere.
