The Embassy of our country in Afghanistan hosted a round table dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the State Independence of Uzbekistan.

It was attended by members of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, parliamentarians, heads of accredited diplomatic missions in Kabul, representatives of business and academia, as well as the media.

The audience was provided detailed information on the large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring sustained socio-political and socio-economic development as well as improving the living standards of the people.

The participants got acquainted with in our country adopted measures for the modernization and technological re-equipment of industrial enterprises, further improvement of the investment climate, as well as government programs aimed at the social and infrastructural development.

Minister of Trade and Industry of Afghanistan, Mohammad Humayun Raso stressed the traditionally friendly Uzbek-Afghan relations and expressed hope for further increase in bilateral trade.

According to him, railroad “Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif”, which was built by Uzbek specialists, has become a practical contribution to the reconstruction of the economy of Uzbekistan Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and played an important role in boosting bilateral cooperation.

In turn, the CEO of the Afghan “Brishna shirkat” Abdul Razzaq Samadi thanked our country for possible assistance and fruitful partnership. He stressed that outstanding successes achieved by Uzbekistan over the years of sovereign development deserve admiration.

Upon completion of the event, a concert program with participation of well-known musical group “Obshor”, who has presented Afghanistan at the X International Music Festival “Sharq taronalari” in Samarkand.

The event was widely covered in the local media. For example, in the news of the first channel of the National Television Afghanistan was broadcasted a special report, and the popular newspaper Daily Afghanistan, published an article in Dari.
