Uzbekistan’s Independence Day has been celebrated in Izmir

Turkish city of Izmir hosted a festive event dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the state independence of Uzbekistan. The event was organized by the Uzbekistan’s Consulate General in Istanbul together with the Association of Friends of Uzbekistan.

Participants of the meeting from among the Turkish public, Uzbek students studying in Izmir and activists of the Association got acquainted with the speech by President Islam Karimov at the celebrations on the occasion of the celebration of this significant date.

In addition, the event discussed the history and current development of Uzbekistan, the results  of successful socio-political and socio-economic reforms carried out in the country, which are recognized by the world community.

Chairman of the Association of Friends of Uzbekistan G.Donmez conveyed his sincere congratulations to Uzbek people. He noted the outstanding contributions of such great scholars and thinkers as Imam al-Bukhari, Imam Moturidi, Bahauddin Naqshbandi and others in the development of world civilization.
