CBU keeps refinancing rate at 10% APR
The Board of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan decided to keep refinancing rate, the press service of the regulator said.
On 19 July 2014, the Board of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan adopted decision to keep refinancing rate at the level of 10% APR, the bank said.
The bank said that the decision was adopted in line with the set macroeconomic figures for 2014, including inflation rate, and in order to ensure stability of resource base of commercial banks.
Central Bank of Uzbekistan cut the refinancing rate by 2 percentage points to 10% APR from 1 January 2014.

Uzbekistan signs loan deal with Korea Eximbank for creation of e-library
Uzbekistan signed a loan agreement with the international financial institutions in the second quarter of 2014, according to the data of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.
The Government of Uzbekistan and Export-Import Bank of Korea signed a loan agreement for US$14.351 million on 17 June 2014.
The funds will be directed to implementation of the project “National general educational electronic library”.
The project is directed at improving access of population to electronic information resources, uniting and connecting to information-library establishments to single general educational electronic library.
Uzbekistan plans to create single digital library network with the cost of US$40 million by the end of 2015. The network will unite 5,700 public libraries and 1,200 information-educational centers with total library fund of about 40 million books and publications.
In the first quarter of 2014, Uzbekistan signed three agreements with the international financial institutions for US$151 million.

Ravshan Irmatov receives “El-Yurt Hurmati” order and Malibu
FIFA referee from Uzbekistan Ravshan Irmatov was awarded with “El-Yurt Hurmati” order by the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
Ravshan Irmatov and his assistant Abduhamidullo Rasulov were awarded at the ceremony, held at Olympic Glory Museum in Tashkent on 25 July 2014. Irmatov and Rasulov officiated the matches of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
During the ceremony, Ravshan Irmatov was awarded “El-Yurt Hurmati” order (Honour of people and Motherland” in line with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
“El-Yurt Hurmati” order is awarded to citizens of Uzbekistan fir their contribution to strengthening of independence of the country, its economic power, growth of national spirit and culture with their work, scientific and public work, hard working and patriotism.
President handed over Malibu automobile to Irmatov and Rasulov to Orlando automobile.
At the same time, the Uzbekistan Football Federation handed over an honourable sign “Uzbekistan Football Federation” for his contribution to development of football in the country.
