President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, in order to familiarize with the ongoing construction and improvement works in provinces, visited Namangan and Ferghana regions on September 29-30.
The head of state traveled to the fields of the farming enterprise “Mustaqillik Shukronasi” in Ferghana district, and talked with farmers and leading figures of the region.
The farmer labors all year round at full capacity to grow a rich harvest. Nurtured thanks to the selfless people like you, the rich harvest is essential in the economic advancement of the country, President Islam Karimov said.
A noble purpose is embodied at the heart of ongoing reforms in all spheres, namely, to care about the future of our people, especially our children, to provide for an environment conducive for them to grow up as individuals inferior to no one in anything. Right from the initial years of independence, the issue of fostering a comprehensively advanced generation was identified as one of the priority tracks of national strategy. Today, in all walks of our life one can observe the outcomes of our gracious principle “Our children ought to be better, smarter, wiser and certainly happier than us”.
Our country has confidently been pursuing its own development path. Cities and villages have been made comfortable places to live, while households enjoy prosperous life. All this is a result of a peaceful and steady life in our country.
We take pride in the fact that in the ranking of the happiest nations in the world, surveyed by America’s Columbia University under the auspices of the United Nations, Uzbekistan is assigned the 44th position on the planet and came first among the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States. This once again confirms the realization of the righteous idea whereby the reforms are not for the sake of reforms, but for the sake of human interests, the head of our state insisted.
As a result of steadfast transformation in the agricultural sector, the attitude to the land, to the labor has changed. The particular significance attached by the President of our country to the promotion of farmers’ movement, encouragement of the work of farmers, has been yielding tangible effects. This can be seen in the rich harvest grown by Ferghana region farmers.
The 3,590 farmer enterprises of the province have cultivated a rich harvest of cotton on more than 100 thousand hectares of lands.
Workers of the farming enterprise “Mustaqillik Shukronasi”, headed by Abdumajid Yahyoev, cultivate cotton and grains on 109 hectares of fields. The farm is a multipurpose one: it specializes in growing cotton, grain, animal husbandry, poultry, along with the production of bread and bakery goods. This year, grains have been cultivated on 45 hectares of land, and the yield per hectare reached 62 metric centners. Cotton has been nurtured on 64 hectares, and these days the cotton harvesting season is in full swing.
As a result of the steadfast advancement of the farmers’ movement and the support for farmers, the over-fulfillment of contractual obligations are being secured in the province in cotton, grains, cocoons and other agricultural products.
In accordance with the decree of the President of our country, “On measures to further improve the organization and development of farming in Uzbekistan”, signed 22 October 2012, farmers’ councils were set up, an important factor in increasing the efficiency of the industry.
The head of state noted the need for further development of the farmers’ movement, for them to not confine themselves to the cultivation of crudes, but also work out and organize its reprocessing, and for the government to stimulate and provide support for multi-purpose farms.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of the Ferghana regional branch of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan Enakhon Siddikova, chief of the farm “Zarkent Sahovati” in Tashlak district – the Honored Cotton Grower of Uzbekistan Zebikhon Rustamova, chairman of the Ferghana regional council of farmers Abdugaffor Rahimov, teacher of the school №22 Yazyavan district Uktamkhon Solieva, artisan of the family enterprise “Usta Yusufjon Naqqosh” Mahamatali Yunusov and others noted that the Uzbek Model of Development recognized in the world has been affording remarkable fruits in all spheres of our life, and living standard of the population have been increasing. They pointed out that all these achievements are the outcomes of large-scale reforms implemented under the leadership of the head of our state.
Meetings and discussions during President Islam Karimov’s travel to Namangan and Ferghana regions as well as the views expressed demonstrated once again the high effectiveness of reforms undertaken in our country that serve for the prosperity of the this land, the steadfast improvement in people’s wellbeing, and for boosting their confidence in the days to come.
