The official presentation of the new ‘Ravon’ car brand has taken place in Moscow. Produced by ‘GM Uzbekistan’, these cars will now be sold on the Russian market under this brand name.

During the event, ‘Uzavtosanoat’ representatives have told about the upcoming rebranding of the dealer centers, and demonstrated the new cars to be offered to the Russian customers.

Today, the right for the Daewoo car brand is owned by ‘Daewoo International’, and ‘GM Uzbekistan’ uses it under a special agreement only for the exported cars. Given that the term of the agreement was approaching to its close, it was decided to re-brand it into ‘Ravon’, which means in Uzbek as ‘the easy way’, ‘free road’.

The ‘Uz-Daewoo’ brand is well known in the Russian market through the well-proven models of Matiz, Gentra and Nexia. In 2015, Matiz has been awarded a title ‘The Car of the Year in Russia’ among urban cars. Over 300,000 Matiz cars have been sold in Russia, and the share of this model in the A-Class segment makes up about 60%.

The new car brand of ‘Ravon’ was presented under the slogan ‘time-tested, re-created’.

According to O’zavtosanoat Deputy Board Chairman Tohir Jalilov, the company has studied the needs of customers in the last two years. They have come to the conclusion that the customers primarily appreciate the proven quality for affordable price. Therefore, ‘Ravon’ has opened a new chapter on its way towards success and progress.

The official presentation demonstrated the well known Matiz and Gentra, the new sedan Nexia R3 – Chevrolet Aveo 2008, R2 – Chevrolet Spark 2010, and R4 – Chevrolet Cobalt.

By the end of the year the new car brand of ‘Ravon’ is focusing on the models of Matiz and Gentra. Next year, the lineup will be significantly expanded by ‘Ravon’ R2 (a new model of compact A-class car), ‘Ravon Nexia’ R3 (the new generation of the best-selling B-Class), and ‘Ravon’ R4 (a new model at the junction of B/C classes). In the future the company is also planning to develop a few more C-class cars and a compact SUV.
