Enterprises of Uzkimyosanoat produced goods for 2.187 trillion soums in 2015

Enterprises of Uzkimyosanoat produced goods for 2.187 trillion soums in current prices in 2015, which grew by 8% in 2014. (currency rates of CB RU from 29.01.2016, 1$= 2831.49 soums)

The enterprises produced consumer goods for 185 billion soums in 2015, which rose by 17.6% year-on-year, the press service of Uzkimyosanoat said.

Uzbekistan produced 1.234 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers, including 942,720 tonnes of nitrogen fertilizers, 148,420 tonnes of phosphate fertilizers and 143,240 tonnes of potash fertilizers.

According to the localization programme, the industry produced 248.6 billion soums of localized goods compared to the forecasted level of 244.2 billion soums.

Within the realization of investment projects, included to the investment programme, enterprises of Uzkimyosanoat used investments for US$222.9 million.

The enterprises of Uzkimyosanoat purchased goods for 208 billion soums within the international industrial fair and cooperation exchange.

Uzbek Republican commodity exchange sells goods worth 8.8 trillion soums in 2015

On 23 January, the Central office of the Uzbek Republican commodity exchange (UZEX) saw an expanded Board session on results of exchange activity in 2015 and the tasks set for 2016. The session was attended by the heads of subdivisions of the Central apparatus and regional branches.

During the discussion of the results of this work, it was noted that the year 2015 saw positive results in attracting entrepreneurs to an electronic trading due to the increase of sales volume of goods and commodities in exchange trading by 9.5% and by creating favorable conditions on all trading platforms of the exchange.

The share of small business and private entrepreneurship in the total volume of transactions concluded at UZEX increased from 67% to 81%. In particular, business entities purchased products worth 5.1 trillion soums and sold own products by nearly 2 trillion soums, which exceeds indicators of 2014 by 20%. Settlement and clearing house registered about 6.5 million new customers, 95% of which are small businesses. (currency rates of CB RU from 29.01.2016, 1$= 2831.49 soums)

The total amount of goods sold at UZEX amounted to 8.8 trillion soums. Including, the volume of exchange trading comprised 6.9 trillion soums, exhibition and fair trading – 1.1 trillion soums, public procurement – 497.1 billion soums, corporate procurement – 344.3 billion soums, with the amount of transactions executed in the new trading platform “Electronic catalog” reaching 46.7 billion soums.

The growth in sales volume and expanding the range of commodities contributed to the creation of favorable market conditions in some segments of the stock market. In particular, the weighted average cement prices decreased by 20%, liquefied gas by 21.5%. Enterprises sellers received additional income due to the formation of market prices at 2.4 trillion soums. Due to the mechanism of collateral transactions, the level of execution of obligations under commercial agreements increased by 97%. 77 new trading platforms started their activity in different regions of the country.

Positive trading dynamics was observed in the system of exhibition and fair trades, the volume of which compared to 2014 increased by 8% and amounted to 1.1 trillion soums. The total number of participants of fair trades increased by 34%, indicating the rapid development on the stock exchange of B2B (“business to business”) model of E-commerce.

The main innovation last year was the launch of a new trading system on public procurement – “electronic catalog” (catalog.uzex.uz), which has significantly simplified the procedure of purchasing by budgetary organizations of essential commodities. Since the beginning of the operation of the system or from June to December 2015, the electronic catalog saw deals signed worth 46.7 billion soums, with budget savings amounting to 12 billion soums.

The volume of public procurement in the system “D-xarid” increased by 5.7% and amounted to 497.1 billion soums. Budget savings due to lower prices in the bidding process amounted to  139.8 billion soums having grown in comparison to 2014 at 19%. The share of small businesses in the supply of goods on public procurement via electronic auction trades made up 99% of the number and volume of transactions.

During the reporting period, the volume of electronic trading on corporate procurement in the system “E-xarid” in aggregate terms reached 344.3 billion soums, financial savings increased by 6.8% or up to 68.4 billion soums. The share of small businesses in the delivery of corporate procurement via electronic auction trades made up 98% of the number concluded and 96% of the total amount of transactions.

The session also reviewed issues related to corporate governance of UZEX. Pursuant to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures on introduction of modern methods of corporate governance in joint stock companies”, a new organizational structure has been established at the exchange. The reorganization of the management of the company was aimed at the solution of tasks on the development of new directions and wide introduction of ICT in the stock market, improving financial status, as well as the efficient management and personnel policies of the exchange.

Following the session, on the basis of objectives set by the government, priority directions of development of UZEX for 2016 were worked out. Those directions include, among others:  increasing access of businesses to commercial resources, further implementation of modern IT technologies in business processes, enhancement of the electronic trading systems and improving the efficiency of corporate governance of the company.

Working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan to China

Meeting with Foreign Minister of China

On January 29, 2016, in Beijing, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is in China on a working visit, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi.

The foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and China discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as some international and regional problems.

A special attention was paid to the cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the SCO, to the preparation for the upcoming Summit in Tashkent and other events during the presidency of Uzbekistan in the organization.

Meeting with Secretary General of SCO

On January 28, 2016, in Beijing, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is in China on a working visit, met with the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Rashid Alimov.

The Minister congratulated R.Alimov with the assumption of the Secretary General and noted the important role of the SCO Secretariat in further development of cooperation among member states within the Organization.

The Secretary General praised the ongoing consistently working under the presidency of Uzbekistan to achieve the goals and objectives of the SCO, enshrined in its Charter and other fundamental documents.

During the meeting, it was noted that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has become an influential international organization, playing a significant role in world politics, since its inception in 2001. With the efforts of the Member States, multifaceted cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, transport and communications, cultural and humanitarian fields are being carried out.

The sides discussed practically the preparation for the next meeting of the Council of Heads of States in June 2016, Tashkent, and other main events of the SCO for the current year.

Center on repairing composite components of aircrafts launched

Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) launched a new center on repairing and maintaining composite components of aircrafts in Tashkent.

The center was launched at the Uzbekistan Airways Technics. Uzbekistan Havo Yollari partnered with US corporation Boeing to launch the center.

Uzbekistan Airways Technics has technical base and qualified personnel for rendering all kinds of line and base maintenance service and repair of aircraft both of the Uzbek airline and foreign companies, and all its services are confirmed by the international certificates,

It is necessary to note that specialists of this aviation enterprise already had experience on work with composite details of airframe of aircraft Airbus A320 and Boeing-757/767, namely, nose cones, fairing of high-lift devices, elevators and rudders, panels of floor, etc.

After commissioning of the given Center the National provider of aircraft maintenance opens new horizons in development and continues successful long-term history of the enterprise of Uzbekistan in world aviation market of aircraft maintenance.

Boeing invested about US$500,000 into creation of new facility. The furnaces with the inert environment for processing of titanic alloys and process of pasting for repair of nose cones, as well as complete set of equipment for performance of repair of composite details of aircraft of all types were financed from these funds and supplied to the enterprise.

The Uzbek experts, who have taken preliminary training on repair of details from composites for aircraft, manufactured by the Boeing, have been involved for providing effective work of the given Center. Mechanics have received theoretical and practical training at the course “Basic Composites Repair and Metal Bond” in Singapore, and engineers have taken theoretical preparation in Seattle.

The Uzbek airline is planning to organize the trainings for experts of Uzbekistan Airways Technics on repairing composite details of Boeing-787 Dreamliner.

Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) transported over 2.572 million passengers in 2015, the press service of the Uzbek airline said.

The airline said that it transported about 42,000 tonnes of cargo, including paid luggage.

Now cargo flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Dubai, Frankfurt, Shanghai, Seoul, Milan, Vienna, Hanoi, Zaragoza are carried out from Navoi Airport, where the International Intermodal Logistics Centre (IILC) was established.

During last year, about 692 flights were executed from IILC, while the volume of cargo transportation reached 35,989.2 tonnes in 2015, which rose by 16 % year-on-year.

Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) will receive two airplanes Boeing-787 Dreamliner in the third quarter of 2015.

The Uzbek airline is now preparing for putting into operations the aircraft Boeing-787 Dreamliner, two of which will be delivered by Boeing in September – November 2016.

Modern long-haul aircraft Boeing-787 are created on the basis of high technologies and have high economic efficiency. Absolutely new approach to design of passenger cabins provides the maximum conveniences to passengers and flight crews, necessary for long-distance flights.

The new aircraft will start to be exploited on distant and long-distance international routes and will allow to carry out a nonstop flights from Tashkent to New York.
