South Korea’s Samsung and national manufacturer of electrical appliances Artel intend to expand the range of LED displays manufactured in Uzbekistan next year.
Launched late August 2015, the monitor maker in Zaam in has demonstrated its effectiveness, large capacity of the Uzbek market, and the interest of neighboring countries in two months. Today, the company produces two models of 19- and 22-inch Samsung monitors. The production of 27-inch monitors is scheduled to start by the end of 2016.
Although the manufacture has been just pioneered in Uzbekistan, its monitors are already in demand among local dealers and representatives of foreign companies. Tne interest will undoubtedly encourage the national producer to expand the product range.
Today, the entire electronic stuffing and screens are supplied by the South Korean side, and Uzbekistan is producing plastic components. The future plans focus on the enhancement of cooperation and localizatition. To this end, the company has actively participated in the recent International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange in Tashkent.
According to the South Korean side, saturation of the domestic market with goods remains the goal for the near future. There are plans afoot to start negotiations on exporting 10% of monitors to foreign partners.
The plant is expecting to reach the annual capacity of up to 200,000 monitors by the end of the current year as another step in its development.

Over 248,000 firm names registered via Internet
State Committee of Uzbekistan on Statistics reserved over 248,000 firm names via Internet as of 1 November 2015, the press service of the committee said.
The committee said that since introduction of system of reserving firm names through Internet, it has reserved 248,000 firm names, which meet requirements of the law “On firm names” and do not have analogous or similar names in database of registered firm names as of 1 November 2015.
About 48,000 firm names were registered via the system in January-October 2015, the committee said.
As earlier reported, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan launched the system of reserving firm names through Internet on 1 February 2011.
From 1 February 2011, legal entities and individuals can apply for reservation of firm name through website of the State Statistics Committee and receive confirmation of originality or inexistence of identical or similar firm names, which can confuse people.
