Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s meeting with voters of Surkhondaryo Region
The candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the movement of entrepreneurs and businessmen – the Uzbekistan Liberal-Democratic Party (UzLiDeP), Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met voters of Surkhondaryo Region on 15 November.
The meeting was opened by the candidate’s authorised representative, A.Toshkulov.
As a result of large-scale reforms implemented under the leadership of Uzbekistan’s First President Islam Karimov, Surkhondaryo Region is developing consistently as are all the other regions of the country. This is evident in a 9.4 per cent increase in the gross regional product in the first nine months of this year. Thanks to the modernization and diversification of the economy, the region’s industry is developing, and new modern enterprises are being established in its districts. As a result of broad support for the small business and private entrepreneurship sector, its share in the region’s economy is rising. New apartment houses and trade and services facilities are being built in the region’s towns and villages.
Candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a speech setting out the main points of his electoral programme.
The programme specifies such priority tasks as consistently continuing the large-scale reforms started by the country’s First President, improving the system of state and public administration, implementing the idea “From a strong state to a strong civil society”, building a law-governed democratic state and strong civil society, strengthening the role of the Oliy Majlis (parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the state power system, strengthening the multi-party system and creating an effective system for the training of honest and responsible personnel loyal to the Motherland, capable of independent thought with a new way of thinking and initiative as well as knowledge about advanced methods of management.
Special attention is also paid to such issues as further strengthening macro-economic stability, further raising economic growth rates, ensuring the national currency’s stability and prices on the domestic market, increasing the competitiveness of the country’s economy on the world market, the modernization and diversification of the sectors and branches of the economy, expanding its export potential, increasing its investment attractiveness, implementing a range of measures to reduce the state’s share in the economy, developing and protecting private ownership, further reinforcing the supremacy of law, developing the social sphere and strengthening peace and stability in the country.
The meeting was held in the format of video conference. Voters who gathered in Termez and all the district centres of the region expressed their opinions on the electoral programme of the candidate.
A labour veteran, H.Tangriyev; a people’s poet of Uzbekistan, S.Sayyid; the chairman of the Kyzyrik District department of the Nuroniy foundation Y.Beknazarov; a folksinger, S.Shoydilov; a labour veteran, H.Toshboyev; the chief of the Mehnat Farovon Hayot farm in Denau District, A.Norboyev; a teacher of the Angor services vocational college, G.Karimov; and others have said that the implementation of the tasks specified in the programme will serve for the further development of the country and the raising of the people’s wellbeing. These people called on voters to take an active part in the forthcoming 4 December elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Sarvar Otamuratov’s meeting with voters of Qashqadaryo Region
The candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Sarvar Otamuratov, met voters of Qashqadaryo Region on 15 November.
The meeting, which was held in the format of video conference, was opened by the leader of Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party deputies’ group in the Qashqadaryo Regional council of people’s deputies, A.Keldiyev.
S.Mahmatmuminov, authorised representative of the candidate, familiarized those gathered with the candidate’s biography.
Candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sarvar Otamuratov made a speech expounding the main points of his electoral programme.
The programme gives priority significance to issues of ensuring the consistent continuation of the strengthening of the high law culture and political culture in society and achieving a spiritual revival on the basis of the country’s great historical and cultural heritage, rich spiritual-moral values and traditions, based on five principles of reforms which are widely recognized on an international scale and which have become guidance for action for the development of the country.
The aims and tasks specified in the programme are of important significance to the socio-economic development of all the regions of the country, including Qashqadaryo Region. This region accounts for 64 per cent of natural gas, 67 per cent of oil and 87.4 per cent of gas condensate extracted in the country. Such modern industrial enterprises working in the region as the Shortan gas-chemical complex, the Muborakneftgaz unitary enterprise, the Dehkanabad potassium fertilizer plant and the Tolimarjon thermal power station as well as big joint ventures, Gissarneftegaz, Kukdumalokgaz and Shortangazmahsulot are making a worthy contribution to the development of the country’s economy and to the raising of the population’s wellbeing.
The candidate drew voters’ attention to issues of the further development of the region’s economy, the expansion of its export-oriented production sector, the increasing of the volume and types of goods for export, the introduction of modern technologies at textile enterprises for the deep processing of local raw materials, the creation of new ways of access to the world market and the construction of transport links between Uzbekistan and other countries and regions.
The candidate’s programme proposes tasks of raising the effectiveness of the work of state companies and predominantly state-owned enterprises by ensuring the openness of their financial-economic activities, cardinally strengthening the system of training engineers and technicians, financial experts, economists and managers in the area of corporate management and programmers with modern knowledge and qualifications as well as by supporting talented young people in these areas.
The chairperson of a department of the Karshi engineering-economics institute, Yu.Ergasheva; a senior teacher of the Karshi engineering-economics institute, S.Murtozova; an editor of a section of the Voha newspaper, O.Kuldoshev; the chief trainer of the Qashqadaryo regional department of the Uzbek martial art federation, J.Bobonazarov; and others expressed their opinions on the electoral programme of the candidate and tasks proposed in it. They called on voters to take an active part in the forthcoming 4 December 2016 elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

105 investment projects totaling 123 billion soums have been implemented in Ferghana region since the dawn of the year
In spearheading the cardinal reforms on the modernization and diversification of economy major significance is attached to the active establishment of manufactures with domestic and foreign investment, and consolidating the export capacities of enterprises. The progress achieved in Ferghana region has been particularly noticeable in this context.
“Favorable investment climate in our country has been promoting the establishment of manufactures with the involvement of foreign investors, and, most importantly, the increase of people’s welfare,” says the head of the Ferghana Regional Department for Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade Rustam Sulaymonov. “154.2 billion soums (currency rates of CB RU from 17.11.2016, 1$= 3138.95 soums) was disbursed for the implementation of industrial projects in the first nine months of the current year, 11 joint ventures were established by means of $16 million of direct investments. The bulk of investments are channeled to light, electrical and chemical industries, as well as the construction materials industry”.
Moreover, large enterprises carry out another 18 investment projects totaling $296.6 million. A recently commissioned Uzbek-Thai joint venture Fergana Oseana Textile, with over 15 billion soums of investments, ranks among them. Up-to-date equipment for processing and production of cotton yarn worth 6 million euros was delivered and installed as part of cooperation agreement with a Thai company.
High quality yarn manufactured at the enterprise is projected to be exported to European nations, Russia and China.
